BARRAS BRIDGE. A world of informational and interactive natural history exhibits is presented in this fascinating museum. Displays such as "Living Planet" illustrate the effects humans have on their environment and vice versa. Emphasis is placed on endangered species and energy conservation efforts. "Land of the Pharaohs" is another popular exhibit, which offers insight into the lives of the Ancient Egyptians. This display includes two mummies and a tomb that is typical of those times. TIMES SQUARE. This large museum is situated right next to the central station. The various exhibits are largely created for children, but it still contains a lot of information that adults may find interesting. The exhibits take visitors on a trip through time, illustrating the many theories regarding creation of man as it is seen through an evolutionist's eyes. The display begins with the leap from life in water to life on land, and continues to the age of dinosaurs on up to prehistoric man. Interesting shows on DNA and on the brain are provided for additional entertainment.
